VeryDarkMan reacts as Sowore supporters fight, blocking the entrance to the court

Social media critic and activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), criticized the supporters of the activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore following a brawl that broke out in the court premises during Sowore’s appearance over a case related to statements in which he allegedly described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a criminal.

Videos circulating online show some of Sowore’s supporters arguing and physically clashing outside the court, prompting reactions from observers and activists.

One of the fans, who condemned the incident, said that the internal conflict undermines the purpose of the gathering.

Get home safely, now they are fighting alone. This is very bad. How will the government take us seriously? We came for a peaceful protest and ended up fighting ourselves.”

VeryDarkMan questions the behavior of fans

Reacting to the development in a video shared on social media, VeryDarkMan wondered why people who had gathered to support Sowore would resort to violence among themselves.

You said you came to stand in solidarity with Omoyele Sowore, so why are you fighting yourselves?” he asked.

He stated that some individuals attended the court proceedings not because of genuine support for the activist, but because of creating content for social media.

According to him, part of the fans ignored earlier appeals not to obstruct the access to the court premises.

Criticism due to the blocked entrance to the court

In another viral clip referenced by VeryDarkMan, one fan was heard celebrating blocking the entrance to the court while demanding the release of Sowore.

The activist claimed that such actions could negatively affect other users of the court and give the authorities reasons to tighten security measures.

He explained that the Federal High Court has several courtrooms in which different cases are heard at the same time and warned that noise and disturbances could disrupt court proceedings.

Judges do not like distractions or noise while handling cases,“, he said, adding that excessive disruptions could force security personnel to restrict access to the premises.

Call for an orderly protest on June 30

VeryDarkMan urged supporters planning to attend Sowore’s next court appearance on June 30 to remain calm, organized and law-abiding.

He advised the protestors not to block the entrances and not interfere with court activities, stressing that other citizens also have the right to access state facilities and attend their cases.

According to him, exercising the right to protest should not encroach on the rights of others.

He further expressed hope that Sowore’s legal issues will be resolved positively and encouraged fans to continue to show solidarity in a coordinated and peaceful manner.

“If you go to court on the 30th, please be coordinated, observe the process and avoid giving anyone an opportunity to use your actions against the movement,” he said.
