Barcelona contacted Harry Kane’s camp regarding a possible transfer

Barcelona established contact with Harry Kane representative about a potential move to Camp Nou, as uncertainty remains over the forward’s long-term future at Bayern Munich.

The England captain has a year left on his current contract with the Bundesliga champions, and negotiations over an extension are expected to resume after the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Despite the interest of the Spanish champions, Bayern are still convinced that Kane will commit his future to the club.

Barcelona is monitoring the situation with Kane

Kane has reportedly settled in Germany and is currently concentrating on England’s World Cup campaign after scoring three goals during the group stage to help his country reach the knockout rounds.

Barcelona are on the lookout for a new first-choice striker following Robert Lewandowski’s decision to leave when his contract expires this summer.

The Catalan club reportedly see Kane as an ideal replacement, having previously succeeded Lewandowski at Bayern after the Polish striker left for Spain in 2022.

Any move, however, could prove complicated. Bayern honorary chairman Uli Hoeness previously confirmed that Kane’s £57m release clause expired earlier this year, meaning Barcelona would have to negotiate directly with the German club.

Bayern confident in the new contract

Since arriving in Munich, Kane has profiled himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers.

The 32-year-old scored 61 goals in 51 appearances last season, surpassing Lewandowski’s record for most goals in a single campaign for Bayern.

His goals helped Bayern secure the Bundesliga title, the DFB-Pokal and the German Supercup, while he also finished as Europe’s leading goalscorer by winning the European Golden Boot.

Barcelona have already strengthened their squad by signing England winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United and remain interested in Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, although an initial bid for the Argentine was rejected.
