Peter Obi addresses the skeptics and says that future generations deserve better opportunities

Democratic Congress of Nigeria presidential candidate, Peter Obi, appealed to Nigerians who are not convinced by his political message, urging them to consider the future of younger generations.
Speaking during an interview with journalist Rufai Oseni, Obi said his desire is to help create a society that offers today’s youth the same opportunities that were available to his generation.
He argued that many elderly Nigerians have already achieved financial success and should focus on building a better future instead of accumulating more wealth.
The former governor also lamented what he described as excessive greed among some members of the political and economic elite, questioning the value of acquiring more resources than one could ever need.
Reflecting on his early years in business, Obi recalled buying his first brand new car in the early 1980s and spoke of a period when the Nigerian economy provided greater opportunities for entrepreneurs and ordinary citizens.
He cited his experiences as a trader who frequently traveled abroad, using these memories to illustrate what he believes was a more prosperous era for many Nigerians.
The interview went like this…
Rufai Oseni: Do you have a message for those who, no matter what you say, will never say, “Let me give this man a chance”?
Mr. Petar Obi: I invite them, we are building a society for the benefit of our own grandchildren. Some of them may think that they have made enough money. I want to give young Nigerians the opportunity that God gave me then.
People my age today steal what they don’t need — how long will they live?
I bought my first brand new car in 1981 for ₦2,700 and later bought a brand new 505 SR for ₦7,200. I used to trade in Nigeria and travel to London every weekend. I used to board a Nigeria Airways flight from Lagos to New York, the ticket cost about 155 then.
