A man uncovers the truth after an informant claims his late friend’s wife inflated the children’s school fees

A Nigerian man has shared an emotional story about how a routine check on his late friend’s school fees was children discovered a surprising misunderstanding and a family dispute.

He said he has been responsible for the children’s education since his friend passed away three years ago.

According to him, he personally promised to support the children and paid their school fees despite his own financial constraints.

That’s what he explained later someone informed him that the children’s mother had inflated the fees.

He said the information confused him, especially since the widow also contacted him to settle the debt, which he eventually paid after giving her permission to remind him.

An investigation into school fees reveals a discrepancy

The man said he later decided to verify the claim by contacting the children’s school directly to confirm the actual fees that had been paid.

He stated that the school submitted a breakdown of school fees for each class, revealing that he was actually paying less than about 17,000 naira, contrary to what he was told.

After this discovery, he arranged a meeting with the woman to clarify the situation. During the discussion, he asked why she had not informed him of the exact tuition fees.

She allegedly explained to him that there had been an increase in allowances, but she did not inform him about it because she thought she was already doing enough for the children.

Emotional conflict due to alleged misinformation

The man said he later informed her that he had been told she had inflated the fees, revealing that the source was her older sister who lives with them.

As evidence of their conversation, he stated the phone number, the time of contact and the message he received.

According to him, she burst into tears and was unable to respond after hearing the revelation.

He expressed disappointment with the situation, asking why someone would spread such information when the reality is different.

He added that he immediately settled the outstanding difference after confirming the actual fees.
