“People mourned, you showed Rolls Royce” – Clintoncod condemned the Cuban high priest for the video of Alexx Ekubo’s funeral
Nigerian comedian In Clinton caused reactions on the Internet after criticizing the famous bartender Cuban high priest through a video he shared on social media during the funeral activities of the late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo.
In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), he expressed his disappointment at what he described as a callous display of luxury at a time when family, friends and colleagues were mourning the actor.
According to him, the Cuban high priest missed the opportunity to show empathy and instead focused on showcasing his lavish lifestyle.
“This might be the most insensitive video I’ve ever made, but I have to say it. We just lost Alexx Ekubo, a talented actor, and people are grieving. The only video you can put out is your Rolls Royce, G-Wagon, private jet, food and lifestyle,” he said.
The comedian went on to wonder why nothing from Associates of the Cuban high priest advised him not to appoint such content during the festive occasion.
He asserted that there is a time to celebrate and a time to mourn, adding that burial ceremonies should not be turned into an opportunity to chase.
Clintoncod also expressed concern about public figures reacting positively to the post, saying it made him question people in the celebrity’s circle.
His statements have since caused mixed reactions on the Internet, while some social media users agreed with his criticisms, others came to the entrepreneur’s defense, claiming that people grieve differently.
