“I had to investigate” – Lady reveals identity of man who touched Alexx Ekubo’s coffin, gives reason for action
AND Nigerian lady has revealed the identity of the man who was seen touching Alexx Ekubo’s coffin with a ring.
Earlier there was concern about viral video shared on the internet who caught an elderly man touching the actor’s coffin with a ring on his finger.
Lady Speaks Out
The lady, who goes by the Facebook name, Kikky Chukwura, shared her findings after conducting research.
The lady explained that the elderly man’s actions were part of his professional duties as a member of Ebonyi Funeral Home.
She then detailed the circumstances that led to him tapping the coffin with his ring, saying:Check if the coffin is still well frozen and cold. Because transporting bodies requires traveling long distances and making stops, undertakers constantly monitor refrigeration to prevent decomposition. Nodding his head after touching the casket was probably a nod to his colleague“.
The funeral of Alexx Ekubo
Earlier, GistReel reported that the actor was buried on June 18, 2026 in his hometown, Arochukwu, Abia State.
The funeral ceremony followed a series of emotional funeral rites, including a service of songs held on June 10 at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos, and a vigil on June 17 at his family home in Arochukwu.
The funeral service was held at Mary Slessor School Field in Amanagwu village, Arochukwu and was attended by family, friends and notables in the Nollywood industry including Ini Edo, IK Ogbonna and Yomi Casual.
The actor’s remains were buried on the family estate with traditional rites in accordance with family customs.
It is worth noting that the actor died on May 11, 2026 at the age of 40 after a private battle with metastatic kidney cancer.
