The mission advised students, workers and visitors to respect the approved duration and conditions of their stay, warning that any violation could adversely affect future travel opportunities.
“Staying in compliance with US immigration laws is not only the right thing to do – it protects your future and opens up opportunities for Nigerian travelers,” stated the Mission.
The warning was posted on the Mission’s official social media page on Monday as part of an effort to educate travelers about the importance of following US immigration rules.
The mission also called Nigerians to ensure that their travel documents remain valid throughout their stay and avoid actions that could jeopardize their immigration status.
“Complying with immigration rules benefits both travelers and the host country,” it added, noting that compliance helps maintain confidence in the visa system and protects long-term travel opportunities.
