AND Nigerian lady sparked reactions online after sharing the unexpected moment her husband realized she was the woman he wanted to marry.
The woman, identified as Christy on Facebook, said a simple date a few years ago became one of the reasons her husband chose her.
The wife recalls the conversation after the wedding
She found that memory came after they were married when she asked her husband which made him choose her over other women.
Expecting a romantic answer, she said that she was surprised by one specific answer.
How a movie date changed everything
She recalled that during their courtship, her husband took her to Silverbird in Port Harcourt to watch a movie.
On arrival they allegedly asked for popcorn and were told it cost £800.
The woman said she immediately asked the price and suggested they leave instead.
“Let’s buy ingredients for Egusi soup”
According to her, she told him that the money was better spent on food.
In her words:
“I remember that, after I got married, one day I asked my husband:
“Please be honest, why did you choose me?” Among all the things he mentioned, there was one that almost made me pass out.
He reminded me of the day he took me to Silverbird in Port Harcourt to watch a movie. When we got there, we first asked for popcorn and they said it was N800.
Then I shouted:
“800₩ for popcorn?!” It was back in 2010
I turned to him and said:
“Please honey let’s go home, I will stop at the market to buy stuff for egusi soup with that N800” .
And so the supposed date turned into an evening of cooking soup
According to my husband, that was the exact moment he said to himself
“I saw my wife.”

looking back now: am I so ashamed of myself for skimping on someone’s money?
The man wanted to pamper me, and I was busy analyzing the costs and benefits?
Instead of enjoying popcorn and a movie, I counted the ingredients for the soup.
