Mr. Ibu’s family feud escalates as the alleged first wife responds to Stella’s cry for help

- The alleged first wife of the late actor Mr. Ibu has accused his widow Stella of selling the actor’s properties and misappropriating the funds raised during his illness.
- She claimed Stella bypassed other family members and said her current financial struggles were a result of her past actions.
- The allegations add to the ongoing public debate over Mr Ibu’s estate, with multiple family members making conflicting claims. Stella has yet to publicly address the new allegations.

The alleged first wife of the late Nollywood legend John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu has broken her silence following the recent public appeal for financial assistance by his widow Stella Maris Okafor.
Her reaction comes days after Stella, along with her children, told influencer King Mitchy that they are facing severe financial difficulties, claiming that they have been without electricity for two months and are now fetching water from a well and struggling for basic needs.
Speaking in a viral video, the woman, who identified herself as Mr. Ibu’s first wife, accused Stella of mismanaging the late actor’s assets and public donations collected during his illness.
According to her, while Mr. Ibu was hospitalized, Stella allegedly had her first son and his adopted daughter, Jasmine Okafor, arrested over a disagreement over funds donated by Nigerians for his treatment.
She further alleged that after the actor’s death, Stella sold several of his properties, including a house in Enugu reportedly worth about 18 million pounds.
The woman also alleged that Stella told the family that water was damaging Mr. Ibu’s residence in Lagos, prompting them to provide her with another apartment. However, she claimed the move was part of a plan to sell Lagos assets.
According to her, after the burial of Mr. Ibu, Stella and people around her allegedly spent the sale proceeds and other funds, leaving the family in the current situation.
She concluded by describing Stella’s current situation as “karma”, insisting that even if Nigerians donate money to her again, she will eventually return to seek public assistance.
