“INEC denied us the access code to upload our candidates” – NDC

Democratic Congress of Nigeria (NDC) accused the Independent State Electoral Commission (INEC) for refusing to provide the access code needed to upload and download their candidates to the commission’s portal.
Speaking in an interview with Vanguard, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, said the NDC has already approached INEC but is yet to receive any response.
“We have approached INEC but they are yet to respond to our request. We hope to be in court tomorrow (today) to apply for a stay of execution of the judgment of the Federal High Court Lokoja,” he said.
Development comes a few days after a Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi Stateordered INEC not to recognize the NDC as a political party until all legal disputes surrounding its registration are resolved.
The court had earlier set aside its December 2025 ruling that forced INEC to register the NDC after the Peace Movement Party (PMP) claimed ownership of the logo used by the NDC for its registration.
Despite the ruling, the NDC has insisted that it remains a legally recognized political party and has vowed to challenge the ruling at the Court of Appeal.
The National Chairman of the NDC, Senator Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe, said the party rejects the ruling and will immediately appeal the decision, insisting that its legal status remains intact.
The legal battle is expected to continue as the NDC will approach the Court of Appeal seeking a stay on the execution of the Lokoja court judgment.
