A man praises a stranger who returned the full N1.8 million after an accidental Opay transfer

AND man shared how a stranger earned his admiration after he returned the entire N1.8 million he mistakenly transferred to the person’s Opay account.

According to the man, he initially believed the money was missing after calling the recipient’s phone number several times without success because it was disconnected.

He said he was already giving up hope before he decided to try again about 30 minutes later.

When the recipient finally answered the call, the man explained the situation and appealed for the money to be returned.

As a gesture of gratitude, he even offered the foreigner to keep N100,000 before returning the remaining balance.

Recalling the event, the man said: “I mistakenly sent 1.8 million to someone’s opay account, I called the number that was disconnected, I was already giving up. I called the person he chose 30 minutes later and begged him to return it. I said he should remove the 100 thousand and send the rest.”

He further disclosed that the recipient exceeded his expectations by returning the full amount without deduction of the N100,000 offered to him.

The story causes reactions on the Internet

The man added, “He returned 1.8 m without taking anything off him. I sent him 150 thousand without thinking.”

His experience has since drawn praise from many social media users, with several describing the recipient’s action as a rare act of honesty.

Others also commended the sender for rewarding the integrity of the stranger with N150,000, saying such acts promote honesty and goodwill in the society.
