Men can spend millions in hotels but they can’t support you with ₦100k to learn a skill – claims woman

Nigerian woman sparked a debate on social media after criticizing men who spend huge sums on luxury hotels for romantic encounters but refuse to financially support women in building their careers or learning a skill.

In a viral video circulating on the Internet, the woman claimed that some men are willing to spend millions they seek temporary gratifications but hesitate to give just ₦100,000 to help a woman start a business or acquire a skill.

“Some men spend millions to book hotels if they want to have something with you but they cannot give you ₦100,000 to start a skill or to support you,” she said.

Social network users divided

The video quickly drew mixed reactions, with many users sharing different views on financial support, relationships and personal responsibility.

One user, identified as Immortalhe argued that many men have become reluctant to offer financial assistance because of past experiences.

“Many men have learned the hard way. You honestly try to help a girl, she sees you as a magician. Men don’t throw away their money anymore. These women are stingy with everything,” he wrote.

Another user, Shieldhe argued that no one should dictate how others spend their money.

“If you think it’s easy to make money and help people with 10k, do it and help. You cannot tell any woman or man how to spend their money to please themselves,” he said.

Norsh he also disagreed with the woman’s position, arguing that some men were treated unfairly despite their generosity.

“Most men would be happy to do that, but you’d either call them fools or end up saying, ‘Did I ask you to?’ Men had to learn the hard way,” he wrote.

Georgeanother commenter, wondered why anyone should feel obligated to provide financial support.

“Why should I give you ₦100k to support you? Don’t you know that our pleasure is sweeter than our pain?” he wrote.
