“She offered to pay in kind” – an Uber driver recounts a shocking discovery after picking up a passenger in Lagos
Nigerian man caused reactions online after he shared a surprising experience from his first days working as an Uber driver.
According to him, the incident happened around the Lekki area of Lagos after he received a request for a ride from a woman.
Upon arriving at the scene, he saw her arguing with a man over money before getting into his vehicle.
Recalling the event in the vernacular, he said:
“When he got to her location, the guy escorted her out of the apartment. The next minute they started pulling money that wasn’t complete. That’s when I realized she was probably a runner or something, but it was none of my business at the time.”
The driver claimed that the woman complained about the amount she was paid during the trip to the mainland.
He too stated that she offered to settle her transportation cost another way, saying she did the same to the other driver in the car.
However, he said he declined the offer and insisted on getting his ₦28,000 ticket. The biggest shock came when they arrived at her destination.
“I asked the guy, ‘Boss, is this your sister? This is your sister okay oo.’ He smiled and replied, ‘You want to take my wife?’ I said, ‘Ahh, your wife?'”
According to him, the man revealed that they had been married for three years and that his wife only traveled for work. I was in deep shock. Hmm. Women are dangerous ooo,” he added.
The story has since drawn mixed reactions online, with some questioning its authenticity, while others shared their views on trust, relationships and modern dating.
