“I will start generating electricity, fight against insecurity on the first day in the office” — declares Sowore

Human rights activist and candidate for president of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Soworehe outlined what his administration would focus on immediately if he becomes president in 2027, highlighting urgent reforms in electricity, security, education and health.

Speaking on his proposed agenda, Sowore said his government would move swiftly on key national challenges from day one in office.

“I’ll start farming electricity on day one, we’re going to fight to make sure that this security problem is solved immediately, you know, using technology, using medium-term and long-term, whatever strategy we can use.

We’re going to start funding education from day one, we’re going to start funding health, we’re fixing the rules, from day one.

You won’t see me on, in fact, if someone takes out an ad in the paper celebrating my 100 days in office, I’ll find the person, hunt them down, and make sure you never do that stupid thing again.

And if you’re in my office, you’re fired that day. That means you have no business waiting 100 days before counting 100 days. People are already dying before, you know, you’re elected to office.

So it will all start at the same time because no single solution can solve the problem of Nigeria. That would be a set of solutions.”

He argued that Nigeria’s challenges require simultaneous interventions rather than delayed or incremental responses, arguing that citizens cannot afford long waiting periods before reforms take effect.
