“Tell Nigerians the real reason I was kicked out” – Super Falcons star Esther Okoronkwo urges NFF

  • Super Falcons striker Esther Okoronkwo has accused officials of not telling Nigerians the truth about her exclusion from the national team.
  • The footballer says she kept quiet for weeks but could soon reveal her own story of events if the real reasons behind her omission are not revealed.

Super Falcons striker Esther Okoronkwo has publicly questioned the circumstances surrounding her exclusion from the national team, calling on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to reveal what she describes as the “real truth” behind her absence.

In a statement shared on social media, the soccer star accused unnamed officials of misleading Nigerians on the reasons she was left out of the squad.

According to Okoronkwo, she remained silent for weeks out of respect for professionalism and love for the game, but said she could no longer watch what she described as false stories, speculations and misinformation continue to circulate.

Addressing those responsible for the decision, she urged them to be transparent with Nigerians and reveal the real reasons behind her exclusion.

“To those corrupt officials responsible for the decisions that led to my exclusion from the Super Falcons team, why don’t they tell Nigerians the real truth?“, she wrote.

Okoronkwo further warned that if the reasons for her absence are not made public, she may be forced to share her side of the story and reveal what allegedly happened behind closed doors.

“I have remained silent for weeks out of respect, professionalism and love of the game. However, I will not allow false stories, speculation and misinformation to continue to spread,“, she said.

“I call on those responsible to stop lying to Nigerians and tell them the real reasons why I was dropped from the team. If the truth is not known, I will have no choice but to share my side of the story and expose everything that happened behind closed doors.”
