“Air force gets more than 400 billion pounds annually, why is Nigeria still insecure?” -VDM Questions about security costs

  • VeryDarkMan has sparked reactions after questioning why insecurity remains a major problem in Nigeria despite the huge budget allegedly allocated annually to the Nigerian Air Force.
  • His comments divided opinion online, with some Nigerians applauding his call for accountability while others dismissed it as attention-seeking.

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has sparked a fresh debate online after questioning the effectiveness of Nigeria’s security spending amid ongoing insecurity across the country.

Speaking during a recent field trip, the activist expressed concern over the annual budgetary allocation for the Nigerian Air Force, wondering why insecurity persists despite the huge sums allegedly committed to the sector.

“Aviation has received over 400 billion pounds every year, why is there still insecurity in Nigeria?” he asked.

His remarks quickly gained attention on social media platforms, with Nigerians divided over his comments. While some praised him for raising questions about accountability and spending on security, others accused him of seeking attention and oversimplifying the country’s security challenges.
