AND Nigerian cried out online after he allegedly received ₦100,000 from individuals he claimed were bandits during a live TikTok session, only to later receive a demand for ₦100 million.
The man, identified as Odumayo Olufemi, made the allegation in a video circulating on social media where he narrated what appeared to be a harmless gifting turned into a disturbing experience.
How the incident happened
According to him, he joined the TikTok live session on June 6 after the hosts promised to send money to users who follow their page.
He said many TikTok users assumed it was a joke at first and joined the session unsuspectingly.
“I came to confess that I encountered some bandits during a live session yesterday June 6th. During a live session they promised money to everyone who follows their page and I followed the page. We thought it was a joke“, he said.
“I got N100,000”
Olufemi claimed that after following the site and giving his details, he received a ₦100,000 alert.
He added that other viewers in the live session also allegedly received similar payouts.
However, he said the situation changed soon after the money was received.
“They want N100 million”
According to him, he later received a message demanding N100 million from him.
“As soon as I received the money I got an email. Nigerians please come save me. They are asking me for ₦100,000,000,” he said.
“Please come to my rescue. I also got money. I was among the people who joined the live session. They gave me N100,000 and now they are asking for ₦100,000,000.”
