“DSS should interrogate Wike” – Isaac Fayose reacts to Oyo kidnappings with fresh allegations

  • Political commentator Isaac Fayose has sparked debates online with a viral video.
  • He questioned the link between the recent security problems in Oyo State and local political developments.
  • His comments were in response to reports of abductions of schoolchildren and teachers in the region.

Political commentator Isaac Fayose has sparked debate online following a viral video in which he wondered if the recent security challenges in Oyo State could be linked to political developments in the state.

Reacting to reports of the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in parts of Oyo State, Fayose pointed to remarks he claimed were previously made by the Minister of the Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

According to Fayose, Wike reportedly declared: “I will light a fire in your state, Governor Seyi Makinde, I will light a fire in Oyo State.”

The commentator claimed that the timing of the abduction appeared suspicious, claiming that it occurred during a period when Governor Seyi Makinde was preparing for a major political engagement.

Fayose suggested that the sequence of events deserves more attention, noting that another remark attributed to Wike was made shortly before the kidnapping.

“Three days ago, the same Wike mocked Governor Seyi Makinde who should be, I told you, I will set your state on fire,” he said.

He further questioned what he described as a worrying pattern involving political statements and security incidents. Fayose also addressed the comments allegedly made by an aide to the FCT minister in relation to the kidnapping case.

“Add 1 plus 1 plus 2 plus dates, add it all together. Wike’s boyfriend came on national television to say that maybe it was Governor Makinde who masterminded the kidnapping. Are you following this story very well? So that means, how can I possibly think so deeply?” he stated.

The commentator also drew comparisons with Rivers State during Wike’s tenure as governor, stating that cases of kidnapping were rampant at the time.

“That same Rivers state, when Wike was governor, the kidnapping there surpassed the whole kidnapping in Nigeria at that time. Think, think, these politicians, they can do and undo,” Fayose asserted.

Expressing concern over the situation, Fayose called on Nigerians to remain alert and not dismiss the alleged threats, especially at a time when children and teachers have become victims of violent crimes.

“Nigerians, we must shine our eyes, we must shine our eyes well. If we say we are a country where the law works, I am sure the DSS or the police are not calling Wike for questioning now,” he added.
