It is a solemn day for the family, friends and fans of the late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo who are being laid to rest today, June 18.
Earlier reports revealed that the actor’s remains were received at his father’s residence in Arochukwu, Abia State on Wednesday. A wake ceremony was later held in his honour, which brought together several notable personalities from the Nigerian movie industry including Ini Edo, IK Ogbonna, Mike Godson, Omoni Oboli, Ayo Makun and others.
Videos shared online captured the emotional moments as loved ones, industry associates, community members and well-wishers gathered to pay their last respects and celebrate his life.
As the funeral ceremony takes place today, photos and videos from the event continue to surface on social media platforms.
The funeral appears to be themed around the color white, with mourners dressed in white, while decorations at the venue also reflect the same color, symbolizing honor, peace and remembrance.
