“He came back empty” – The emotional moment of the late actor’s sister-in-law tells in Service of Songs
Song service held in Lagos for deceased Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo became emotional as his sister-in-law shared heartfelt memories of him and his marriage to her sister Anwuli.
The gathering brought together family members, friends and colleagues who came to pay their respects to the deceased actor and look back on his journey.
The family explains why they accepted him
Speaking during the event, sister-in-law he recalled how the family first met Alexx Ekubo when he came to ask for their daughter’s hand in marriage.
She said it took time for the family to accept him, but she later became convinced that he was the right partner after observing how he treated the people around him.

In her emotional tribute, she also spoke about his life and influence, noting that Ekubo fulfilled his mission on earth but died empty-handed.
She said: “When Ikenna appeared, we knew he was the one. It was difficult at first because our Anwuli is a special breed. He was a deliberate lover. If you want to experience love, you need to see Ikenna and Awnwuli. My mother was safe with him because she saw how much he loved his family. His family is not only the people connected to him, but the people around him. He came and fulfilled his mission; yes, it was short because he came back empty. If you want a crazy lover Jesus”.
