“He started cheating after cashing out $25,000…” – Lady recounts why she reported her ex-boyfriend to the EFCC

A Nigerian woman has sparked reactions online after she revealed that she reported her boyfriend to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following the breakdown of their relationship.
According to her, she met this man during her studies, when he was in financial trouble and often depended on her support.
She said in her own words:
“When I met him, he was so broke. Most of the time I was the one feeding him. I even used my savings to buy him a laptop to start Yahoo because I loved him.”
She claimed that everything changed after one of his friends made money from online scams, but she encouraged her boyfriend to try it too and even supported him with a laptop.
The lady claimed that after he earned his first $25,000, her boyfriend’s attitude completely changed. She claimed he started cheating openly and drifted away despite everything she did for him.
Feeling betrayed, she said she left the relationship and later reported him to the EFCC leading to his downfall.
While some social media users praised her for exposing the alleged online cheater, others claimed her decision was driven by heartbreak after their relationship broke up.
One user wrote, “She shouldn’t have endorsed Yahoo in the first place.” Another added, “Treason or not, reporting him was too extreme.”
Despite the actions, the lady claimed she does not regret her decision and insisted she would do it again if given another chance.
This admission continues to spark conversations online about love, betrayal and responsibility in modern relationships.
