“I told God, if we ever land safely, I will never fly again” — Lady recounts her first flight experience

A Nigerian woman has gone viral after sharing her first dramatic event flight experience on X (formerly Twitter), where she described intense fear during takeoff and panic in the air.

She said what started as excitement quickly turned to fear after the plane took off from Lagos to Enugu.

According to her, anxious thoughts about possible accidents and accidents in the air overwhelmed her during the trip.

In her post, she explained that her emotions escalated shortly after takeoff, as fear-based thoughts flooded her mind. She said the experience became so intense that she began to shake uncontrollably.

She wrote: “When I first flew, I repented of all my sins and surrendered my life to Christ on the plane.

I was enjoying the whole thing until we took off. Ahhh!! There was no imagination that did not come to my mind that day.

What if we crash…? What if we stay in the air…? All the bad news I had heard about the flight began to pile up one after the other.

My body was shaking to such an extent that even my grandmother noticed it. She held my hands and asked me to calm down.

I told my God that if we ever landed safely, I would never fly again. Omg!! I went to heaven and came right back when we landed in Enugu.”

She also reflected on the cost of the trip and her initial excitement before boarding.

“We paid about ₦17,000 for the flight fee that day. I paid for the economy fare and was excited to fly home.

My destination was Enugu State, as we took off from Lagos.”

Despite her fear, she said the experience ended safely and humorously added that she would still consider flying again.

“When we landed, I told God that I don’t mind oo, I was scared oo, but I’ll still love to experience it again oo.

But now I can’t because the fee has gone up from ₦17,000 to over ₦120,000.”
