“If Tinubu cannot lead Nigeria, he should resign” – Doris Ogala is angry about the detention of Sowore

Nollywood actress and politician Doris Ogala spoke out over the detention of activist and AAC presidential candidate Omoyela Sowore, accusing the government of targeting opposition votes.
Speaking to newsmen outside the Federal High Court in Abuja, Ogala was reacting to the ongoing legal battle involving Sowore, who was recently detained in the Penal and Correctional Center Kuje pending a decision on his request for extradition on bail.

Expressing her frustration, the actress claimed that she was denied access to the courtroom despite being a member of the African Action Congress (AAC).
“This is supposed to be the Federal High Court for the common masses, where common citizens can be heard, but I came here today and they didn’t let me.
“I am the AAC candidate for governor of Abia state. I have been restricted, I have been blocked. The DSS has pointed their guns at me,” she stated.
Ogala questioned the state of democracy in Nigeria and insisted that citizens deserve better treatment than those in positions of power.
She further stated that Sowore was targeted because of his influence as an opposition figure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“If we are in a military regime, they should tell us. If Tinubu is not fit to lead this country, he should resign. Enough is enough.
“You are oppressing Omoyele Sowore because he is now the strongest opposition we have in Nigeria. What they have done will not stop us from contesting. Omoyele Sowore will emerge as the president of this country in 2027,” she added.
Her comments have since sparked reactions online as Nigerians continue to follow the developments surrounding Sowore’s detention and the impending court decision on his request for release.
