“I’ve been married to one woman for 48 years, it’s boring” — Charly Boy

Music veteran and media personality Charlie Boy shared an incredibly honest look at the reality of long-term marriage, acknowledging that decades of commitment naturally bring routine and moments of monotony.
During a recent appearance on Yanga 89.9FM, the entertainer emphasized that no marriage can survive without continuous effort and active negotiation.
“All marriages are management, including mine,” he said.
Keeping private things secret
Charly Boy pointed out that he and his wife have a strict rule to keep their marital disputes away from the public eye.
He pointed out that bringing outside perspectives into private disagreements rarely produces positive results, noting that outsiders “won’t settle the argument.”
The reality of longevity
Looking back on his almost five-decade-long relationship, the singer frankly admitted that routine can easily fit into a life partnership. To illustrate his point, he used a related culinary simile:
“I’ve been married to one woman for 48 years, it’s very boring. Imagine eating the same Egusi for years, now it’s boring.”
He further noted that deep familiarity over time can inevitably cool the initial spark of excitement, though he still relies on the wisdom of the old adage, “The devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know.”
While Charly Boy warned about the trust-breaking impact of infidelity, he intriguingly concluded the conversation by voicing his support for the concept of “outsourcing” within relationships.
