Emotional scenes from the funeral of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo continued to dominate social media, leaving many fans heartbroken.
The actor, who died on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 after reportedly battling metastatic kidney cancer, was buried on June 18 in his hometown, Arochukwu, Abia State.
His funeral followed a series of farewell events, including a service of carols on June 10 and a vigil on June 17, attended by family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers.
A video circulating on the Internet captured touching moments from the ceremony. In one shot, his wife Anwuli is seen holding a framed photograph of the late actor as female family members dressed in white accompany her during the procession.
Other footage showed white-clad pallbearers carrying his casket along a beautifully landscaped path, while mourners watched in silence.
A separate video highlighted a solemn moment during the service, as a woman read scriptures before the pastor delivered a message in honor of the late actor.
Friends and colleagues from the show were also present, many visibly emotional as they paid their last respects. Among those spotted at the ceremony were IK Ogbonna, Ini Edo, Obi Cubana, Omoni Oboli and Deyemi Okanlawon.
The funeral ceremony sparked a storm of reactions online, with many fans expressing their grief over the loss and sharing emotional tributes to the actor.
