Mourinho backs Real Madrid’s move for Arsenal defender Calafiori

According to journalist Ramon Alvarez, the new coach of Real Madrid Jose Mourinho instructed the club to hire the Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori.
The Arsenal the player has caught Mourinho’s attention with his flexibility, and he will now try to lure him away from the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal stars test their shooting at Puskás Arena for the UCL final.
Calafiori was a key player for the Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta from arrival from Bologna in 2024.
The 24-year-old Italian has made 65 appearances for Arsenal, scoring four goals and registering five assists.
Calafiori is predominantly a left-back, but he is also comfortable playing at centre-back, which is one of the reasons why Mourinho wants him.
However, given how vital the Italian is to Arsenal, getting a deal done could be difficult.
The Gunners aim to strengthen their defence, with Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown a target.
Piero Hincapie also plays there, and they may be willing to sell Calafiori if they sign Brown or another player at that position.
An injury prevented him from starting in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
Arteta is preparing to strengthen his squad for next season’s title defense and another appearance in the Champions League.
Madrid could sell several key players this summer, and Calafiori’s status will be closely monitored.
