“Some of you have sold your conscience to politicians” – Solomon Buchi condemns Adeyinka Alaseyori for comments on Oyo kidnapping

Media personality Solomon Buchi criticized the gospel singer Adeyinka Alaseyori for her remarks on the kidnapping of school children and teachers in Oyo State.
Alaseyori urged Nigerians to pray for the safe return of the abducted victims, stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President and security agencies were working to secure their release.
Reacting to her viral video, Buchi accused some gospel preachers and pastors of defending politicians while Nigerians continue to suffer from insecurity across the country.
“Just because you put soft music in the background of what you’re saying doesn’t mean you’re making sense. It doesn’t mean you know what you’re saying. Some of you gospel preachers and even pastors have sold out. You’ve sold your conscience to politicians,” he said.
Buchi asserted that the ongoing child abduction and worsening insecurity in the country cannot be resolved through prayer alone, stressing that leaders must be held accountable for their responsibilities.
Although he claims to be a Christian who believes in prayer, he insisted that prayer should not replace practical action, governance and policy implementation.
“I am a Christian. I believe in prayers. But you see, prayers will not do for us what God has given us the ability to do for ourselves.
“We have been praying for Nigeria since I was a child. Over 60 years of independence, we are still praying for Nigeria. Shouldn’t it be our cue to do something else while we are praying in the background?” he added.
The exchange comes amid public outrage over the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, with many Nigerians demanding immediate action to ensure the release of the victims.
