“They want to silence me” – VeryDarkMan talks about the alleged EFCC petition

- Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), responded to a petition filed with the EFCC.
- The petition calls for an investigation against VDM and its lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.
- It was allegedly filed by Blessing Agbomhere & Partners on June 11, 2026.

Popular social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reacted to a petition allegedly filed with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), seeking an investigation against him and his legal representative, Deji Adeyanju.
The petition, which is dated June 11, 2026, was allegedly filed by Blessing Agbomhere & Partners. VDM later shared a copy of the document on its Instagram page on June 20.
According to the petition, the EFCC has been called upon to conduct a thorough forensic review of the financial activities of VeryDarkMan and Adeyanju. The petitioner raised concerns about the funding behind his public campaigns, advocacy efforts, and massive mobilization of supporters.
The document suggests that the source of financial support for such activities should be scrutinized, arguing that undisclosed funding from local or foreign interests could potentially affect national security, public stability and democratic processes.
It further invited the anti-bribery agency to examine their bank accounts, assets, business affiliations and other financial information for possible evidence of money laundering, tax-related offenses or suspicious financial transactions.
However, the petition points out that the request for an investigation is aimed at ensuring transparency and strengthening public confidence, rather than directly accusing individuals of any wrongdoing.
Reacting to the development, VeryDarkMan alleged that the petition is part of an attempt by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to intimidate and silence him.
The activist claimed to be the author of the petition, Blessing Agbomhere, whom he described as an APC-affiliated lawyer from Edo State and a fellow resident of Etsako Local Government Area.
VDM also claimed that the ruling party has become embarrassed by the increasing number of Nigerians participating in protests and demanding reforms across the country.
His words…
“THEY WANT TO STOP US FROM SPEAKING AGAINST THIS EVIL GOVERNMENT THAT FAILED TO PROTECT THE LIVES OF NIGERIANS, SO THEY USED THEIR PEOPLE TO WRITE PETITIONS)
They say APC wrote a petition to the efcc to investigate me and @adeyanjudeji according to the petition they claim we are fighting against bad governance and therefore we are sponsored so they must investigate us, they claim our protest is so organized and well organic, they are surprised by the response of Nigerians who want change SO FOR THAT REASON an APC member who is also a lawyer wrote the petition…….. in short they want to claim we are sponsoring terrorism to disrupt APC GOVERNMENT 💀
The name of the APC lawyer is BLESSING AGBOMHERE FROM EDO STATE, my ETSAKO Local Government Area.”
