Nigerian Afrobeat star Davido has criticized former presidential aide Ren Omokri for his explanation of why he has not yet resumed his diplomatic duties in Mexico.

Omokri, who appeared on Channels Television’s Politics Today, discussed the postponement of his assumption of office as Nigeria’s ambassador to Mexico. He said his absence was related to the ongoing World Cup being held across the United States and Mexico, adding that Mexico had not rejected his appointment and suggested that political opponents were behind the narrative questioning his status.

However, his comments did not go down well with David, who reacted to his Instagram story, strongly condemning the former assistant and making derogatory comments about his explanation.

Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, continues to face public scrutiny over the controversy surrounding his delayed resumption, which has drawn mixed reactions online.
