Veteran actor Baba Elesho explains why he consulted his wife before bringing his mother home

Veteran Nollywood actor, Adewale Elesho Adeoye, popularly known as Baba Elesho, has stirred up conversations online after he revealed that his wife is the head of the family.

The actor revealed this during an interview recounting the personal experience of his mother, who struggled with eye problems for several years.

According to him, his mother was living with one of his younger siblings during that period. Although she was not with him, he said he continued to support her and regularly check on her.

Recalling a visit to his mother, Baba Elesho said he discovered that she was unhappy with her living arrangements and wanted to leave.

“The day I went to fetch her from my younger sibling’s house, I went there to check on her and do my duty as a son. My mom said she would rather be thrown into the sea than stay where she was because she wasn’t comfortable there.”

After the conversation, the actor decided to take his mother to Lagos. But when he got home, he discovered that he had left her in the car while he went upstairs to talk to his wife.

“It was Sunday, I went upstairs to meet my wife, I bowed and told her I had a visitor. She asked who, I answered Alhaja.”

According to him, his wife wanted to know why she was not informed earlier, so he explained the circumstances of his mother’s arrival.

“She asked what happened, and I explained everything to her. I told her that my mom said that if there was nowhere to take her, I should throw her into the sea, and that’s why I brought her.”

Explaining his decision to speak to his wife before bringing his mother into the house, Baba Elesho said it was important that he inform her because the situation directly affects their home.

“I came to talk to my wife first because she had to know about it. You are the owner of the house and your reactions are important.”

The veteran actor added that mutual respect and understanding are key to the way his family functions.

“My wife is the head of my family” he stated.
