“Without any due respect, Remi! you are lit by lightning” — DJswitch shot at Tinubu’s wife

Media personality and activist DJ Switch criticized the First Lady Oluremi Tinubu following her remarks encouraging Nigerians to explore small businesses such as akara selling, maize roasting and coolie making.
Speaking in a recent video, The first lady said that the government is working to give citizens hope through grants and social intervention programs, noting that starting businesses such as the production of akara and coolies requires little capital.
She said the administration has also invested in several humanitarian causes, including tuberculosis treatment, breast cancer support and efforts to combat food malnutrition.
The first lady defends the government’s social interventions
According to Oluremi Tinubu, her office has continued to provide scholarships, ICT training and other support programs aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
“We cheered the Nigerians on as best we could. What is in our hands, I gave and am giving,” she said.
The First Lady also called on Nigerians not to lose hope, stressing that President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewal of Hope Programme” was designed to instill optimism among citizens.
“We must renew our hope and so we renew our hope. We are a very proud nation,” she added.
DJ Switch reacts angrily
Reacting to the comments, DJ Switch took to social media to express her displeasure, arguing that the government should focus on creating opportunities and infrastructure that can prepare citizens for a rapidly advancing technological world.
“Without any due respect, Remi! Lightning turns you on! While other nations are creating spaces and infrastructure for the development of their people for this rapidly technologically advancing world, you want us to sell coolies?” she wrote.
The activist went on to criticize those who support the First Lady’s statements, adding, “I can’t describe how much I despise you people.”
