Controversial street pop singer Portable has reacted to rapper Ycee’s comments on the popular “Olodo Uprising” and the Peller culture debate.
Ycee criticized Nigerians for prioritizing TikTok-style content and the influence of content creator Peller, arguing that it reflects a decline in respect for education, music and intellectual creativity.
In a video posted on his Instagram page on June 25, Portable fired back, accusing Ycee of wrongly targeting Peller instead of addressing his own career issues.
He claimed that the rapper didn’t blame others during his successful years, but now he does because his career is no longer at its peak.
“During the time Ycee ruled, he didn’t blame another man. When life is sweet, you don’t blame another man and others don’t blame you, but now when his life is bitter, now he blames Peller.”
Portable described Ycee’s comments as coming from bitterness rather than genuine concern, questioning why he didn’t focus on personal advancement or spiritual growth.
“You’re not capable of begging God for mercy? You say little pikin because he doesn’t go to school makes me do it. Do you go to school if you use your own money? How many cars do you have?”
He also defended Peller, insisting that success should not be strictly tied to formal education, adding that different paths can lead to achievement.
The Zeh Nation boss went on to claim that he has achieved more material success despite not finishing school and boasted about his lifestyle compared to the rapper.
“Me who dropped out of school, I will pass you by in celebration. Cars will pass you by. If you want to destroy your drowning career, come introduce me, pay N10 million to help you destroy your career.”
