“$30 to come and watch the game” — Chinedu Ikedieze reacts to the fee to watch the World Cup in Dallas

Nollywood actor Chinedu Ikedieze popularly known as Akishared his surprise after discovering that soccer fans were being charged $30 to watch a FIFA World Cup match from a fan stand in Dallas, United States.
The actor made the revelation in a video posted on his Facebook page while attending a fan festival for Wednesday’s Group K match between DR Congo and Portugal.
According to him, the fee was charged to fans who watched the match on giant screens outside the stadium, not inside the match venue.
The actor compares the experience to Nigerian theaters
While portraying the atmosphere at the event, Ikedieze explained that the fan festival offered fans the opportunity to enjoy the game in an environment that was very reminiscent of a stadium.
While addressing his followers, the actor expressed surprise at the amount being charged.
“People who came to watch the game, not even in the stadium. This is only on the outside; they set up big screens here. Do you know how much they charge us? $30, that’s about 40,000.”
He added that despite being outside the stadium, the lineup created a similar experience for football fans.
“We’re going to a fan festival in Dallas. We can watch the game here. You still feel like you’re in the stadium. It is like an observation center in Nigeria.“
Security and parking costs attract attention
The actor also highlighted other aspects of the event, including the heavy security presence around the venue and additional costs faced by visitors.
“The police are everywhere. Parking here is $30, bro. $30 to come and watch the game. This is America.”
The video sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians comparing the cost of attending fan festivals abroad to the fees charged at local theaters.
Others noted differences in event management, security arrangements and fan experiences during major international tournaments.
