  • The announcement was made on June 15 and caused significant reactions on the Internet.
  • Many social media users mentioned Baba Ijesha’s previous legal problems.

Nigerian media personality, Yeni Kuti, has reacted to the news that the CEO of fashion designer Luminee has fathered a child with Nollywood actor, Baba Ijesh.

The post, which appeared on June 15, sparked widespread reactions online, with many social media users revisiting the actor’s past legal issues and the timing of his release from prison.

Speaking during an appearance on TVC Entertainment, the daughter of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti expressed her support for Luminee and played down the controversy surrounding the development.

Yeni, who revealed she has a personal relationship with the designer, noted that Luminee once made her an outfit for her 60th birthday party.

“I don’t see anything wrong with that. I actually know her, she made my 60th dress for my birthday,” she said.

She also addressed the conviction and acquittal of Baba Ijesha, noting that the actor reportedly claimed his innocence after serving his prison term.

According to her, this could have affected Luminee’s perception and decision to trust him.

“After the guy was in jail, he still came out and denied wrongdoing. So maybe he denied it to Luminee and she believed him and she has the right to believe him if she wants to,” she added.

Her comments reflect the sensitive public debate surrounding personal relationships tied to past legal controversies, as well as the differing opinions the baby news continues to generate online.
