Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has spoken out after a court order allegedly revoked his bail, leading to his transfer to the Kuje Correctional Centre.
Addressing supporters before he was taken into custody, Sowore said he was fully prepared for the development and had already packed his prison bag in anticipation of the court’s decision.
According to him, the experience would not deter his activism as he intends to continue advocating for Nigerians regardless of his location.
“As you all know, the court issued an order when I was away last week to revoke my bail and now I will be sent to Kuje prison. I came prepared and I am going to prison to continue mobilizing our people. I even brought my prison bag because someone has to sacrifice for this country.”
The activist argued that personal sacrifices are sometimes necessary in the pursuit of social and political change, adding that his commitment to the cause remains unchanged.
