Popular cleric and founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, has shared a WhatsApp message he allegedly received amid growing concern over insecurity in parts of the country.
In a Facebook post, the priest revealed the contents of a message sent to him regarding his school in Nasarawa State.
According to the sender, there have been claims that the kidnappers, who are said to have lodged in a hotel, have abducted children in Nasarawa State.
After the rumors circulated, some Muslim parents reportedly rushed to school barefoot to pick up their children in a panic.
As a precautionary measure, students were reportedly sent home, with instructions to resume on Monday if the security situation improved.
Apostle Chibuzor expressed deep sadness at the development and announced the temporary closure of OPM Free Schools in Northern Nigeria until the environment is deemed safe for learning to resume.
His words…
“With a heavy heart, HRM KING APOSTLE CHIBUZOR DAR CHINYERE temporarily closes all OPM Free Schools in the Northern part of Nigeria until the security situation improves.
I know it’s painful, but the lives of these children are more important.”
