The pastor sparked an online debate after sharing his views on interview style Petar Obi.
Speaking during the sermon, the priest asserted that Obi’s responses to certain political issues were often misunderstood by the public.
According to the pastor, many critics have pointed to some of Obi’s interview appearances as evidence that he lacks the qualities needed to lead the country.
However, he insisted that the former governor of Anambra State is deliberate in the way he communicates.
The pastor explains his interpretation
Addressing members of his congregation, the pastor said he came to his conclusion after thinking Obi’s public engagement and political messages.
Explaining his position, he said:
“If you watch his interviews, what Peter Obi will do is when you interview him, he always gives what seems like gibberish. He gives nonsense to such an extent that if you look at him, everyone is now saying, ‘This man cannot be president’. You know, while I was meditating here, the Holy Spirit made me realize that he knows exactly what he is doing. Peter Obi is deliberate in his campaign.”

The pastor further argued that Obi’s position on some national issues may not be significantly different from that of the current administration.
“Can I tell you the truth? He does not have a different manifesto than the current president. That’s why when you ask him about subsidies many times, he gives you an answer that seems nonsensical.”
The remarks sparked reactions on social media, with supporters and critics of Obi offering different interpretations of the pastor’s comments.
