Content creator Jarvis responded to the rapper’s criticism YCee regarding what he described as the “Peller culture” or “Olodo uprising” on social media.
The The conflict started after YCee criticized the growing popularity of content that he believes rewards people for “stupidity” or sensational things online, arguing that it sends the wrong message to young people and can discourage them from valuing education.
Reacting to the comments, Jarvis defended the content creators, arguing that many educated Nigerians struggled to find work despite having a university degree.
She questioned what graduates are expected to do when job opportunities are scarce.
According to Jarvis, creating content online has become a legitimate way to make a living for many young people.
She pointed out that she herself finished school and rejected the idea that content creators are necessarily opposed to education.
Jarvis also argued that different people have different interests and talents, stating that while some people may identify with what critics call “Peller culture”, she personally identifies with “AI culture”.
In her remarks, Jarvis expressed appreciation for digital platforms and technological innovations that have enabled young Nigerians to generate income online.
She suggested that without such opportunities, many young people would face even greater economic difficulties.
