Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has again expressed concern over the state of affairs in Nigeria, expressing frustration over the country’s security and governance challenges.
In his Instagram Story, the actor compared global experiences to those in Nigeria, suggesting that while many countries are dealing with natural disasters, Nigeria is instead plagued by what he described as leadership crises.
On his page, he also addressed the ongoing trauma surrounding the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, noting that it has been about 40 days since the incident happened. He further criticized the security situation, stating that armed groups continue to move freely in some communities while security operatives seem unable to effectively stop them.
His remarks have since sparked renewed conversations online about insecurity and the country’s governance.
He asked what exactly the citizens were waiting for.
“40 days and families are still separated.
Children are still suffering just because they were born in Nigeria.
Teachers are still in captivity instead of in their classrooms.
Families are left in fear, sadness and horror.
Meanwhile, bandits move freely through the cities while the very security agencies that are supposed to protect us seem to wave them through.
What exactly are we waiting for?”.
