“Akara and Kuli Kuli are not the future” – VeryDarkMan Launches ₦1.5 Million Skills Support Fund

- VeryDarkMan plans to increase monthly financial support for Nigerians learning vocational skills.
- The goal of the initiative is to promote self-confidence among young people.
- It currently provides funds to help individuals achieve financial independence.

Social media personality VeryDarkMan has revealed plans to increase the monthly financial support he gives to Nigerians learning vocational skills, saying the move is part of his ongoing efforts to promote self-confidence among the youth.
He explained that he already provides monthly funds to help individuals build financial independence, but decided to increase the amount after his backlash to recent comments he made about small businesses and youth opportunities.
Speaking about the initiative, he said:
“I give money to people every month to empower people, but did you hear what the president’s wife said? That people should go fry akara, roast corn and sell kuli kuli for 2026. Those people don’t have any good plans for the youth. At least you will appreciate me now.”
He further added that the support scheme will now increase:
“So now I am going to take the money and look for N1.5 million for 6 people to learn handwork every month at the end. You will tell me what work you want to do and they will share the money with una. Let him teach you handwork o. The government has a good plan for you on akar and kuli kuli.”
The video caused widespread reactions on social networks, with many users praising the increased financial commitment to vocational education.
However, others focused more on his criticism of the government’s policies on youth empowerment, which sparked broader conversations about job creation, skills development and entrepreneurial opportunities in the country.
