A man who identifies as Fulani he publicly gave his support Petar Obi ahead of the 2027 elections, saying he would rather vote for Obi than support the continuation of the current administration.
In a video circulating on social networks, the man said:
“I, Ibrahim, a true Fulani boy, would rather vote for Peter Obi than repeat this government.”
He argued that voting based on religion or ethnicity has not yielded the desired results, stating that Nigerians should instead support the candidate they believe is the most capable.
The man also expressed concern over the insecurity, claiming that many Fulani communities have suffered loss of life, cattle rustling and kidnapping.
He added that, in his opinion, the experiences and perspectives of the Fulani people are often overlooked in public debates.

“I, Ibrahim, a true Fulani boy, I would rather vote for Peter Obi than repeat this government. That’s my choice. Peter Obi will be my candidate than repeat this government, yes, I said. We voted for religion, I didn’t work. We voted for tribalism, I didn’t work. We must vote for the right person, that’s a fact. We Fulanis lose our lives everyday, our cows are stolen by persecution and kidnap our brothers. Fulani’s role is always silent because no one wants to know Fulani’s role.
