Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, founder of Kingsway International Christian Center (KICC), shared a personal testimony of how faith, determination and divine provision helped him break what he described as generational limitations.
Speaking during a prayer session at the Mount of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eri, Ekiti State, the cleric addressed the large congregation at the site of the crusade, reflecting on his humble beginnings and the progress he has made over the years.
A video shared on social media by @therealchurchg1 captured the moment Ashimolowo spoke about his journey and his commitment to building a lasting legacy for his family. He revealed that he made a deliberate promise to provide his children and grandchildren with greater opportunities than he had growing up.
“I vowed to give my children what my father could not give me,” he said.
The priest further revealed that he has taken significant steps towards securing his family’s future, including acquiring property for his descendants. According to him, five of his grandchildren, all under the age of 12, already own houses individually. He also stated that four of them are currently enrolled in private schools in England, and their education is fully financed by him.
Ashimolowo added that he has bought 22 houses so far and plans to expand his property portfolio to 100 properties. He explained that some of these funds were entrusted to his family.
“In addition to financing their wedding, I bought them a house in London. For every child they have, from preschool to master’s degree, I will pay for all my grandchildren. Every year I also sponsor my family’s vacation. I build houses and apartments and put them in trust. Right now I want to buy 100; I have already bought 22”, he said.
His comments caused reactions on social networks. Olumayokun Akinlosotu commended the pastor’s efforts, describing his investments in his grandchildren and property as a strong example of love and hard work for future generations.
Similarly, Eunice Nesa Emmanuel expressed faith that she will also be able to leave a positive legacy to her children and grandchildren.
However, Paul Adeyemo offered a more reflective view, warning that excessive comfort for children may not always be beneficial. He noted that challenges often strengthen faith and character, adding that while family care is important, it should be balanced to avoid fostering addiction.
The debate continues to generate mixed reactions online as users discuss wealth, inheritance and approaches to parenting.
