“My gubernatorial ambition is my decision” – Doris Ogala fires back at VDM, urges supporters to focus on Nigeria, not drama

  • Doris Ogala has denied claims that she was recruited into AAC by Omoyele Sowore or anyone else, insisting that her governorship ambition was a personal decision.
  • While thanking VeryDarkMan for his support so far, she called for peace and urged Nigerians to unite instead of engaging in public debates.

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has responded to claims made by social media personality Martins Vincent Otse (VDM), insisting that her decision to contest for governorship under the African Action Congress (AAC) was her decision alone.

In a statement posted on social media, Ogala acknowledged VDM’s past support but said she chose peace over conflict.

“I deeply respect your strength, but I choose to distance myself from this misunderstanding. You have succeeded me in the past, and I do not take that for granted. However, I choose peace over chaos.”

She dismissed suggestions that anyone influenced her political ambition, pointing out that she decided to run for office on her own.

“My decision to run for governor is solely mine and I am not someone who can be dictated to.”

Ogala also addressed speculation linking her candidacy to AAC leader Omoyele Sowore, stating that he was not aware that she had received the party’s nomination form until the vetting session.

“Omoyele Sowore was never aware that I received the African Action Congress (AAC) nomination form until a certain screening class session. Since I declared my interest in running, I neither spoke nor saw Sowore until the day I saw him in court.”

She further called for unity among supporters, urging them to stop attacking each other and instead focus on dealing with what she described as the country’s real problems.

“I want to ask you all to sheath your swords, come together and join forces so we can retire those oppressors who have deliberately hijacked our system. I love you both. God bless you.”
