The Nigerian movie industry was thrown into mourning following reports of the actor’s death a few weeks ago after his family announced that he had passed away after a private battle with cancer. According to reports, he kept his illness out of the public eye, sharing it with a few close associates before his death.
In a statement shared on his fan page, it was revealed that Matilda, one of Ekubo’s most loyal supporters, has died. She is said to have played a key role in connecting the actor’s family with the fan community.
Further details revealed that Matilda was among the founding members of Alexx Ekubo’s fan club and was fondly called “Iyá Ibadan” by the actor during his live sessions.
