Nigerian comedian and content creator Cute Abiola has sparked mixed reactions online after he publicly appealed to individuals associated with cult groups, encouraging them to channel their influence towards addressing insecurity in the country.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, he called on Nigerians to recognize what he described as the “power and influence” of cult groups, suggesting that such power could be channeled for positive effect in addressing growing security challenges.
According to him, “It is time for all Nigerians to show their power. It is time for all Nigerians to know that cultism is a good thing. It is time for all Nigerians to know that the cultism you are practicing has more advantages than disadvantages.”
He further noted that several communities allegedly linked to cult activities are also among those affected by banditry and other forms of insecurity, calling for a reconsideration of how such influence could be applied to protect the community.
He added that cult groups could potentially use their presence and reach to support affected areas and help improve security across the country.
“Please all Nigerian cultists come out for us. Make Nigerians proud of you this time. You can do this for us please show your power,” he said.
