Judy Austin sparked the debate after she surveyed women who wear Igbo red caps without traditional titles



Nollywood actress Judy Austin he sparked reactions online after he asked a question about Igbo culture and tradition.
The actress took to her Instagram page to question whether it was appropriate for a non-titled Igbo woman to wear a red cap, which is traditionally associated with titled men.


“Is it right for an untitled Igbo woman to wear a red cap? I mean the red cap worn by our titled men. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s an insult to our culture and tradition,” she wrote.
The announcement comes weeks after Judy Austin spoke out against people who constantly pray for broken marriages and families, saying many are consumed by negativity.


Mother of five children also earlier advised women to be intentional in their relationships if they want a happy marriage.
Her latest comment has since drawn mixed reactions online, with social media users debating the cultural significance of the red cap in Igbo tradition and whether women without traditional titles should wear it.
