“No student will say they don’t enjoy Tinubu’s politics” — the self-proclaimed student leader

The self-proclaimed student leader sparked an online debate after a viral video in which he praised the president’s administration Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing alleged improvements in the welfare of students through the Nigerian Education Loan Scheme.
In the video, the student leader also referred to NELFund’s work, arguing that Nigerian students benefit from financial support and policy reforms aimed at facilitating access to education.
“No Nigerian student enjoys Tinubu’s rules,” they claim
“At the moment, there is not a Nigerian student who will tell you that they do not enjoy the politics of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Why? Because of NELFund, the Nigerian Education Loan.
If you check, every Nigerian student has the ability or every Nigerian student receives about 20,000 Naira every month for pocket money and their fees are paid.
So you don’t have to be someone’s child or the child of the elite before you go to school. But with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we had the highest budget allocations at the education level. So why not? One good time deserves another.”
The speaker also linked student mobilization efforts to political support, calling for support for Senator Philip Tanim Aduda in the upcoming elections.
Political support and claims at the university
“So at FCTEA level, we are coming out in full force to vote for Senator Philip Tanima Aduda. Why? Because during his time at the Senate level, we had numerous policies that favored Nigerian students. We had scholarships, we had palliatives.”
He further stated that Senator Ireti Kingibe did not match the previous interventions on the welfare of the students, while he praised the past engagements on the campuses.
“Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda used to come to our campus to check how much we prefer but that has changed which the current senator, Senator Ireti has not done. Actually, I think she was just part of the gang. Therefore, I believe that this time people are more sensitized.”
The student leader concluded that voting decisions should be based on competence and ideas and not on political movements, while he also commended the Minister of the Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for the ongoing projects.
