2027: “Anyone who votes for Peter Obi, the NDC is voting for crime”

Nollywood actor turned politician Kenneth Okonkwo has accused the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) and some party leaders in the Southeast for allegedly collecting money from candidates during the recent party primaries.

Okonkwo, the ADC chieftain, made the allegation during an interview that has been doing the rounds online, claiming that an aspirant from Anambra State contacted him with details of what he described as a fraud regarding the outcome of the primaries.

According to him, the candidate, identified as Obunike Ohaegbu, contested for Nnewi North and Nnewi South Representative of the Federal Constituency on the NDC platform.

The politician stated that candidates were initially informed that no further payments would be required after purchasing their expression of interest forms.

However, he claimed that candidates for the House of Representatives were later asked to pay £10m, while candidates for the Senate were said to have had to pay £20m to secure their candidacy.

“The aspirant sent me a receipt of money. Anyone who votes for Peter Obi and NDC in 2027 is voting for crime,” he stated.

Okonkwo further claimed that despite the payments, the candidates were still directed to participate in the primaries, while the desired candidates were allegedly already selected.
