AND Fulani man has sparked conversations online after sharing his experience with the insecurity and challenges faced by members of his community amid growing concerns over banditry and violence in parts of Nigeria.
The Fulani man says he is innocent
In a statement that garnered attention on social media, the man explained that many Fulani also live in fear of criminal activities and are often affected by the same security threats other Nigerians face.
His remarks come amid ongoing national debates about insecurity, bandit attacks, kidnappings and the perception of different ethnic groups in relation to crime.
Speaking from a rural area, a man described the fear and uncertainty he experiences as he goes about his daily activities.
According to him, insecurity does not spare any group, regardless of ethnicity or origin.
“The challenges we innocent Fulanis face are no different from those faced by others. I am currently in the bush and I am afraid of meeting bandits. We Fulanis face the same challenges as everyone else. Crime has no religion or tribe. About 95% of the Fulani are innocent.”
The growing debate about insecurity
The statement has sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians debating the wider issue impact of insecurity in communities.
Some commentators agreed that crime should not be associated with an entire ethnic group, while others stressed the need for stronger security measures to protect citizens regardless of their origins.

As insecurity remains a major concern, discussions continue on how communities can work together to promote peace and security.
