“The deal with Iran is now complete, congratulations to everyone,” announced US President Donald Trump

United States President Donald Trump announced that the deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran had been completed, stating that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened to international shipping and that the US naval blockade would be lifted.

Trump said in a statement:The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to everyone! I hereby fully authorize the free opening of the Straits of Hormuz and, concurrently, authorize the immediate lifting of the United States naval blockade. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”

The US president did not provide further details about the deal, including its terms, the implementation process or whether Iranian authorities have formally approved the deal.

Trump hails the deal as progress

In a subsequent statement, Trump described the development as a major diplomatic achievement and expressed confidence that it would improve stability in the region.

This major deal will bring peace and security to the entire region. Many presidents have tried to make peace with Iran, and all have failed before me. For the first time, the leaders of the region have found a president who can help them achieve real peace,” he said.

Trump also stated that reopening the Strait of Hormuz would allow oil to continue shipping through one of the world’s most important maritime trade routes.

By opening the straits after the signing of the Agreement on Friday, for the purpose of removing the mines, oil will once again flow at both ends for the Region and the world!”
